Payments, Refunds and Lesson Policy
Hi! I’m so excited to have you as a student. To keep things smooth for the both of us, here’s a quick guide to how payments, cancellations, and lessons work.
Payments
-
Drop-in lessons are paid per session.
-
Monthly packages cover 4 lessons (1 per week) and are paid at the start of the month, or at the start of a new pay cycle.
-
Payment can be made via e-transfer or cash.
Cancellations
-
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel a lesson. Notifying me as soon as possible is ideal.
-
If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice, the lesson may be forfeited without refund unless otherwise arranged by me.
Make-Up Lessons
-
A make-up lesson is a rescheduled session that replaces one you had to miss. It ensures you don’t lose the value of a lesson due to illness, emergencies, or schedule conflicts.
-
Make up lessons do not include cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice.
-
You’re entitled to 1 make-up lesson every 6 months (or after 24 lessons).
-
Make-up lessons must be scheduled at a mutually agreed-upon time.
-
They don’t roll over beyond the 6-month window.
Refunds
For Monthly Packages:
If you cancel, any unused lessons will be refunded in full, and any lessons already attended will be charged at the drop-in rate instead of the discounted monthly rate.
Example:
You paid $120 for four 30-minute lessons ($30 per lesson).
After attending one lesson, you cancel with three lessons ($90 value) remaining.
The one lesson you attended will be recalculated at the drop-in rate ($35 per lesson × 1 = $35 total).
The $5 difference is deducted from your remaining credit, so your refund would be $85.
Drop-in Lessons:
Drop-in lessons are non-refundable once completed.
Code of Conduct
My music lessons are a respectful, safe, and fun space for everyone. Inappropriate, unsafe, or disruptive behavior — whether from a student or someone accompanying them — won’t be accepted.
I reserve the right to end lessons with students who:
-
Consistently miss scheduled lessons.
-
Disregard communication boundaries.
-
Create a hostile or uncomfortable environment.
If I decide to end lessons due to a code of conduct issue, and you’ve paid for a monthly package, you’ll be refunded for your remaining unused classes and charged a drop in rate for your used classes.
Additional Notes
-
Please arrive on time. If you’re late, we’ll continue the lesson for the remainder of the scheduled time. This helps keep everything on track for all students. If I’m running late, of course, you’ll get the full lesson.
-
If I need to cancel a lesson for any reason, I’ll always offer a make-up, refund or reschedule.
-
Lessons are meant to be fun and low-pressure. If something isn’t working for you, just let me know — I’m here to help.
-
Thanks again for choosing to make music with me! If you have any questions, feel free to reach out any time.
By enrolling in lessons, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these policies.
